Went to Spur with a friend from Portland. We had a good time and we were able to get a table right away even though that place was hopping. Every plate that passed looked better than the one before. In the end we had the Confit Chicken and the Pork Sliders, both of which we debated on whether or not we should order another round. We decided not to, even though they were wonderful, so that we could save room for dessert. The only downside was that the service was very slow, then again they were rather busy when we got there....around 6:30.
I won't give Spur a rating yet, as I haven't eaten a full meal there. But after going in for cocktails & dessert, it's safe to say that the pistachio financier w/foie gelato is high on my list of all-time favorite happy endings.
There wasn't anyone else in the place when we were there, but that's because it was so stinking hot outside and we were a bit early. It did fill up a bit as we were leaving.
The vegie salad was delicious, and the desserts were, to my delight, fantastic! Maybe it was the cocktails leading into dessert, but I know a good pistachio financier when I taste one.
