My mother always says, when you're in a diner, order diner food. No where is this more true than at City Limits -- keep to the basics and the soups. Avoid the Asian dishes.
very fresh seafood. the mussels were simply and exceptionally well prepared. service was friendly
fabulous fish but there will be moths flying out of your wallet by the time you're done. a little pretentious and the grotto-like setting with sea shells and sea scene murals is a bit much, but if you can afford it, do it.
great menu and flavour combinations. the alaskan halibut was an ace.
the flavor profile here is intense. absolutely for the adventurous. that being said, i always have a good time there.
solid. the tempura green beans were a perfect starter, truly addictive. The atmosphere is comfortable, the interior modern and slick, yet comfortable. the desserts are a waste of time -- the blueberry crumble was tasteless, and what a shame because blueberries were in season.
8 1/2 has one of the nicest white-collar bars in the city. i recommend their very blue, very refreshing iceberg, made with saphire gin and lots of citrus flavors. the food is east meets west, asian-french fusion which brings the solid French fare of its mother restaurant, Brasserie, into the modern era. I've eaten here several times and have been generally more than pleased. Even celebrated my college graduation here with family and friends. But Restaurant associates sold it in 2007, and while the same executive chef is at the helm, the likelihood of hitting an off-night is significantly higher.
first time i went - stellar. a year later, returned, and was unimpressed. nice setting and without the over the topness that usually accompanies a vegas restaurant. go here if you need a break from the dinging of the slot machine and want to spend some quality time with your companion while eating a pleasant meal.
One of my favorite places in manhattan. The interior is unpretentious, which is a surprise given that Atlantic Grill is a perennial favorite in Zagats, boasting the best seafood in the city. Bright and airy, with simple white tiles, it's easy to pass away with your dining companions. Everything is swimmingly fresh. The wait-staff knows its stuff. You won't be disappointed.
